Wichita Birth Justice Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on leading community-driven efforts to reduce racial disparities in maternal and infant mortality. Our strategy addresses the crisis of racial disparities in maternal and infant health from multiple angles. We will:
- Advocate for systems-level changes that advance the cause of birth equity.
- Serve and support BIPOC parents and babies with initiatives that champion bodily autonomy and informed decision-making to help build a solid foundation of health & well-being.
- Increase representation of BIPOC individuals in birth professions and rebuild community capacity to respond to the crisis of racial disparities in the health and wellness of childbearing families.
Together, we can create a future in which Black and Brown parents and babies are no longer disproportionately likely to die or suffer from medical complications.
